Back in Boston and craving for some local food? The first place to start would be the Union Oyster House. Known as America's oldest restaurant, the Union Oyster House lies on the Freedom Trail near Faneuil Hall. The establishment has served its famous seafood since 1826 and has been frequented by famous Boston residents like Daniel Webster, the Kennedys, and John Kerry. In 2003, the building was even listed as a National Historic Landmark.
As for the food itself, the Union Oyster House offers seafood, apple cobbler, gingerbread, baked beans, poultry, steak and chops. The raw bar is open until midnight on weekends and plenty of free corn bread is also available. Also, be sure to grab a toothpick, after considering the fact that the Oyster House was supposedly the starting place for its popularity in the United States.
